Katie has 10 years of experience in costs and began her career in-house at a Claimant personal injury firm in 2013, following completion of her law degree at Northumbria University. Katie subsequently spent over 6 years in-house at Defendant law firms dealing with a wide variety of paying party cost claims on behalf of insurer clients, before joining Total Legal Solutions in 2023.

Katie qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2017 and is an experienced costs negotiator, having dealt with both receiving and paying party cost claims. Katie deals with costs negotiations on a wide variety of claims from technical fixed cost disputes to high value multi-track cases. Katie is also experienced in preparing costs pleadings – including points of dispute, points of reply, part 8 costs-only proceedings and costs applications.

In her spare time Katie enjoys watching football and has a season ticket at her beloved Sunderland. Katie also enjoys running, attending a Parkrun most weekends, and is currently training for her first half-marathon.
